I came into this story already braced for the shear size of this book. I heard the rumbles and grumbles through the grapevine and put this one off, for various reasons. I agree that Blay and Qhuinn's story felt cheated. Yes, there was interaction and development between the two but the shear volume of other stories that were happening in between theirs, I felt like I couldn't stay focused on them. I don't have a problem reading a novel that helps progress the entire series. This was abundantly the problem with this book. I felt like Ward was trying to write two, possibly three books in the future, that she robbed us of the story here and now. The ending was rushed and I didn't like it at all. It felt like a slap in the face to these two characters.
